I have a cork board that I want hung on the wall in my office. It arrived yesterday in its flat cardboard packaging.

I pointed to package and asked MM if he could hang it on my wall.

I came back from lunch and the board ... still in its packaging ... is hung on my wall.

Things that have made me smile this week .....

1) Getting support at work from higher up.

2) Being asked by nurse if I need any contraception.

3) Seeing that I got August for "Blog Dine With Me"

4) Seeing that Juzzzy is up first

5) Knowing that I will have the house to myself this weekend.

Isn't it strange though that the things which make you happy can also make you sad.

Why these things made me a little sad...

1) Now have deadlines on my deadlines.

2) Assumptions sadden me.

3) I will have to utterly humiliate myself with my lack of kitchen skill.

4) I am sad for my friend right now and hope this is not too soon.

... but aparently my radio is broken cos I could swear the guy on there this morning at 7am promised me a nice sunny day.

Hmmmmmm, good job I have my granny cardigan with me. Anyone else own one of these wardrobe 'must haves'?

This morning I have hit 'confirm' on bank transfer sending back advance paid to me. I am very happy with this decision and very happy to move on with no more anger in my blood.

My desk is an absolute mess. In fact as was kindly pointed out to me by one of my team this morning - I am the only person who actually has taken up four desks with her stuff. They say it's a 'paper-free office' - bollocks is it.

I have been at my desk since 7.30 this morning thanks to Redbull and I am toying with the thought of chatting with my boss about that being my normal time in now as I have been so productive today already (probably too productive as they may now realise how slack I am the rest of the time).

Had a fab weekend with no plans. Went for a big family dinner with KB's family which was nice except for the groping that wasnt from KB.

Ok .. ramble over ... off to find lunch.

Ok, help needed please.

When KB logs into her iTunes account there is nothing in her library - why?

She is logging into it on a different computer than what she created it on (as that computer went up in smoke).

She still has everything on her iPod and when she plugs it in to computer it is recognising the device and letting her look at all her music listed on the device.

We are nervous to hit 'sync music' as it says it will erase her iPod and then sync it with iTunes.

How does she get back her iTunes library?

I am not technical so if there is any info I have missed that will help you come up with an answer please let me know.

Ok, thanks for pissing on my good mood over winning summat.

Just checked mails and apparently I am a hypocrite for asking that the picture of me be taken down.

I am aware it was not done maliciously.

I am aware that I have many times in the past posted pics of myself.

I am aware that anyone who is bored enough to read back through my old blog will know lots about me.

Now ... let me make you all aware of WHY that picture had to come down or be made private to only those who were in attendance.

My partner KB who is the picture too does not have a blog by choice and by the virtue of her job. A select few of you know what she does for a living and would not even think that statement is dramatic. However none of you know the indepth details of what she is involved with in her work and I can assure you all that she would lose her job - no questions asked.

So, before one more of you hits 'send' on a whinging email - do sit back and have a think that there may be more to a situation that you know about.

And one more bloody thing .... I was NOT rude in the way that I asked for said picture to be removed.

OK, done and dusted now lets leave it (and more fucking importantly - me) alone on this one.

I am shit at checking my mails on here. Sorry to the messages I hadnt picked up that were kinda important. Sorry for not accepting the friends requests from old friends sooner. Thanks for all the birthday wishes for last weekend.

Lets face it though ... those of you that know me are quite aware of my slack attitude

Anyway, just had a thought about tomorrow night. Does anyone (who is coming) mind if we do a 'no-rounds' night. I only ask cos its been an insanely expensive month already and buying huge rounds of drinks could just about push me into the poor house. I really dont want to sound bossy but if one person buys a round then I will end up feeling obligated for KB and I to buy rounds too. Are you all ok with that?

I want someone who is coming tomorrow to be my blog witness that there will no sensible (lesbian) shoes on my feet. Row, TKK ... you will have to come along if you want the proof in person that I do own non-sensible shoes.

Conversation with my mother....

Mom: Hello dear, where are you?

LN: At work ( at 10am on a Monday where did you think I would be? )

Mom: So, what are you doing on the 18th?

LN: Nothing that I know of ( Kill me now for not thinking quicker )

Mom: Would you like to go to Oxford with me to a show? The show is on the Saturday in the daytime but I thought we could stay the night on the Friday and have a nice dinner.

LN: Oh that would be nice as I have to be back in London for early evening ( Have now sealed my fate )

Mom: Oh thank you dear, Irene would always go with me but obviously I would have to go alone now if you didn't say yes ( Irene is my moms best friend who died a few years ago so now it is set in stone that I must go after that guilt trip has been planted )

Ok ... as mentioned before KB and I were wondering if any of you reprobates would like to meet up for a drink on the weekend of 19th/20th September?

Now, I need to throw a bit of clarity in here ..... as I am a shit organiser.

We are only able to meet for drinks on the Saturday night (19th).

So if you are expecting some highly organised 'Blogmeet' with an endless list of activities you will be sorely saddened.

Now ...... I was thinking meeting up somewhere like Soho so those of you who wish to be a bit touristy can do so as it's pretty central. Does that sound ok?

Can y'all please let me know by this Friday (11th) if you are definately coming as if it ends up being a no-go KB and I can make other plans (ok, that sounds worse than I mean it to .. lol).

Sitting here at work gazing out at the towers that make Canary Wharf and reflecting on friendships.

KB has a hard time getting her head around the fact that I have more blog friends here in the UK than I do others. In fairness I have only been in UK for 3 years. In fact I can honestly say there are 7 people from here (9 if you count 2 who do not frequent this establishment anymore) who I would not think twice about inviting to my wedding and there are only 4 non-blog friends who would be there.

Is that strange? Or is it just a sign of the fast moving times that we live in.

Anyway, I digress and shall do a post on that at a later date.

So here I am reflecting on friends and the two wonderful ones I have in Landers and Scooby.

For nearly two years they have had an invitation held out to me to visit, to just get away, to have somewhere I could go to get my head back together. I finally took them up on it and cheekily asked if I could take KB along.

I am not great a doing write-ups etc so I shall just give you a summary of my wonderful weekend and let you know that it's fucking cold over there, I have an adopted cat who I am so going to steal, the wind is incredible, I can hit a ball from the ground with a flat thingy, wall kicking is a must do, beware of being pushed off a wall, guiness isn't as painful as seeing a yellow mini, there are no eels in the river, KB can spot a for sale sign from 3 miles, bundles of towels make you feel loved, face licking from dogs is a great exfoliator, drag queens have great legs, we have a date on June 1st 2013, Galway Gay Pride is heaving, I smoke too much, Ryan Air uses traineee pilots and I love my friends.

It was nice to meet up with them sober even though we didn't stay that way (I have been reminded that the first time they met me I was throwing a glass of red wine over Nick - I do NOT remember this).

When sitting in a cavernous kitchen this weekend and commenting on how it would be a perfect 'Come Dine With Me' location an idea started to take hold.

What about a bloggers version?

Entries could be taken ... maybe the community could vote on which 5 they would like to see take part out of all those who 'apply'.

It could be carried out over a number of months to allow for the logistics of travelling to each others homes.

Entrants must be able to host such a dinner party (so booking a table at a restaurant does not count).

Each guest diner submits score (to me?) and is honor bound not to blog what they scored. Maybe a little video of them holding their score card and why that score??

Then at the end winner could be announced. Probably no cash prize but maybe some kind of prize can be arranged.

Hmmmmmm ... want to think more on this but out of curiousity ....

...anyone think they might be interested??

KB is insanely nervous about meeting the gorgeous beings known as Landers and Scooby.

I have tried to explain that she has not a thing to be nervous about.

I would have thought she would have gotten over that after meeting our very own shoe freak Row and the darkly witty TKK.

But it has just occured to me why she is nervous.

There are a select handful of you who while I do not see often I absolutely consider to be friends of the best kind and I may have talked you up in a way that has contributed to her nerves.

So, from now on I am going to run you lot into the ground so then if and when she gets to meet the rest of you who have helped me through the hell of the last few years well, quite simply she wont give a shit.

Stressfree Holiday ???

So, KB and I decided upon (The) Gambia for our holiday in November.

We picked this destination based on weather at that time of year, economy and it's not (hopefully) being a mini-Spain full of Brits (no offense).

What we failed to do BEFORE purchasing our non-refundable tickets was do a little bit of culture research.

Homosexual acts are illegal in Gambia - Article 144 of the criminal code punishes consensual sexual acts between men with 14 years in prison, in 2005 the law was updated to include women.
